4 Years Ago

Well, it's official ... I'm about to be the parent of a 4 year old.  Where did the time go? 

Talan has my patience ... literally.  Due to the flu and dehydration, I went into pre-term labor at 32 weeks (Thanksgiving weekend).  After a couple of days in the hospital and two steroid shots, I was sent home on bed rest and had to take medication every 4 hours to fend of contractions and labor.  At 35 weeks and 6 days, I was taken off of the medication because it was now "safe" to have our baby boy.  Within 12 hours, my water had broke and we were off to the hospital.

 Talan greeted us on December 20th, 2007 at roughly 6:15 in the morning.  He was a wee little one at only 4 pounds and 9 ounces.  After three days in the NICU to monitor his breathing, we were finally able to take him home. 

Santa made a special visit to the NICU ... my favorite picture by far.

Although this looks nothing like him, this is Talan the day we brought him home.
